Thanks to Rosemary, a great friend,
my kitchen is allot less cluttered and easier to clean. And I thought I needed a remodeled kitchen! It turns out all I needed is to have Rosemary spend a few hours organizing stuff. I realized if she was going to give me two + hours as a birthday gift; then I was not going to argue with her about how or what to get rid of as we worked together. We moved the small microwave; repackaged some basic baking ingredients; cleared out cupboards and put like things together. I have gathered a box full of wheat free flours from my daughters diet, plus her bread maker. If I do not use them this week then it goes in the trash. Four boxes of household stuff is out on the patio waiting for the future Sat. garage sale.
This is my journey. Friends come over for a few hours and help me and I go over to their homes and help remove or organize clutter for them. Everyone is in a different place when it comes to letting go of their possessions. Actually, the things possess us.

Polenta for dinner / Southern CA fires/
Tonight, I stirred polenta. Julia Child wrote some funny observations about how the traditional Italian grandmother cooks it. I put a large spoonful of yellow, creamy polenta in a bowl with fire roasted red bell peppers on either side, goat cheese cilantro and olives on top. A glass of red wine and we ate outdoors. The fires & heat have been keeping us indoors but the smoke has been blowing east now.
